Experience of life:
In between expressing ones own authentic voice and easily being influenced by others.

Vultures hover over their prey, ready for the last dying breath of an animal in the wilderness. How many people do you see circling around elders, hoping their names appear in a will to inherit wealth? How many try to stake a claim in long-standing businesses built by the hard work of others, eager to gain assets without contributing to the legacy? To me, this is akin to a conqueror marking their territory, seeking dominion over someone else’s land and life’s work.

Let’s ask ourselves this: What are we waiting for? Are we expecting someone to hand over their life’s achievements, ideas, and time, or are we actively paving our own path, sharing our unique contributions to create a brighter tomorrow? Will we be the vultures that take and wait, or are we already creating, investing, and on the journey to building a legacy that inspires others?

“But wait—I do have an inheritance, and I’m genuinely excited to carry on this legacy.”

Those who are building on what already exists are shaping the future in their own way. If you’re stepping into a role to carry a legacy forward, envision yourself as a wise owl—entrusted with the wisdom and knowledge that has been passed down. The key difference lies in embracing this role with a sense of purpose, rather than merely taking advantage of what’s already there.

“Vultures aren’t all that bad; they play a vital role in the ecosystem by taking care of carcasses in the wilderness.”

This vulture metaphor is just one way to explore how we claim what is ours. The deeper question to ask ourselves is: What story do we want to claim, create, and choose to follow? Whether it’s embodying a vulture fulfilling its role, an owl safeguarding wisdom, or something entirely different that resonates with our soul, what are we choosing to create and follow?
