Experience of life:
The challenge is about finding the balance between prioritising self, setting boundaries and trusting that this is the right thing to do. Often other people and their seemingly more important needs over-shadow what is required to move to the next level in personal evolution.

Sovereignty has become quite the buzz-word and just like spiritual bypassing, it has many facets.

For me, when I think of sovereignty, I have this immediate sense of being empowered within myself in all areas of my life. As all areas are deeply intertwined and connected and therefore influence each other; it stands to reason that when I implement uplevelling changes in one area, then all are positively affected as a result.

Sovereignty is an inside job. Doing the inner work is the only way we can create changes externally.  Making choices aligned with my values and setting gentle yet deeply loving boundaries for myself has been the place to start. Before I did this just this week, when the gift of unexpected circumstances created uplevelling in my service to others – others being my aged parents – I was feeling discombobulated, frazzled and exhausted. I had to prioritise myself and make it clear when I was available. Doing this allowed me to still focus on my business and devotion time for my spiritual practices. This has, in turn,  helped to nourish and support me throughout my day. It simultaneously a beautiful new structure and flow that I have been wanting to implement for the longest time.

Thank goodness for pattern interrupts which lead to chaos disruption!

The current circumstances have highlighted just how important it is for me to stand strong within myself with what I know in my heart is right for me.

The benefits? Time for relaxation, laughter, a sense of freedom and joy at knowing that my needs are being met WHILE I am able to care for others in a loving and gentle way instead of from panic, stress, anxiety and rushing.

I am at Peace…and this can now ripple out to all life, nourishing and supporting it too.

Sibylle Stehli

I have experienced chaos to a degree that would break most people. Suicidal depression, health challenges, an abusive marriage and bankruptcy catalysed me to disrupt the built-up chaos of my life. In doing so, I overcame my circumstances and now direct my life from a place of deep compassion for all.

Allison Wentworth Ross

That inner strengthening we feel when we embrace sovereignty actually feels like straightening our crown. I feel the link between the inner work and the outer effects as you share it here, Sibylle. Thank you!

Sibylle

The more I am embodying this Allison, the link and effects become clearer for me too…quite a marvellous revelation!

Ian Woodhouse

a wonderful article thanks Sibylle, the rewards of doing the inner work are most certainly well worth the effort.

Sibylle

Thank you Ian and yes, loving the rewards too!

Amor

I really like the image of the bird breaking free from the cage. Yes I like that it is about being free to stand strong coming from within ourselves.

Sibylle

We make a choice, unknowingy, to put ourselves in our own cages. So we have the absolute sovereign right to set ourselves free!

Sue Daly

Like Amor I love the image of the bird flying to freedom. And instead of boundaries being some hard physical barrier, I like to think of them as a semi-permeable membrane, which we can regulate according to our own needs as well as the needs of those we feel called to serve.

Sibylle

Absolutely Sue, agree with you on the semi-permeable boundaries!
