“Unsung Heroes” is a beautiful movie on Netflix about family, love, and resolve. It narrates an inspiring story of moving forward with complete trust, demonstrating resilience through life’s ups and downs. This heartfelt story deeply stirred me.
One line that stayed with me was about how tempting it is to retreat when the unknown and challenges become daunting, and when going backward seems like the easier option. Sometimes the only way forward is to metaphorically throw a torch and burn the bridge behind us. This act of finality demands commitment, trust, and unwavering belief—not only in oneself but also in the guidance of a higher power alongside the invaluable support of loved ones.
When trust and allowing are all in play. Miracles happen to those who believe something greater is at work. Faith opens the door to the extraordinary, turning the impossible into possible. At the heart of it all, many unsung heroes make miracles possible.
Why turn back when miracles await beyond the burned bridge?
Thank you for sharing Amor. This reminds me of an activity we used to use in change management courses, where the beginning point is the ‘safety’ of where we are now, the end point may not be clear – or clearly explained – and the transition between the two is a chasm (or bridge). Most often, the biggest leap of faith is starting out on crossing the chasm (and let’s face it, there are some very shaky rope bridges out there!). The key word for me though is faith, and sometimes that relies on you trusting other people and their faith and belief that you can do this. My favourite quote on this subject is:
‘A ship in port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for’ Grace Hopper
Beautifully explained Sue. It is the first step of faith that takes one across a dark bridge, where the unknown feels truly daunting. Thank you for the quote. Yes. It’s up to us to steer the helm, but the ship must first set sail and leave the port.
