I have been mesmerised, oblivious to the world for the past five days after going down a rabbit hole of epic proportions. Initially wondering if there was such a thing as a “good” addiction, I reframed my guilty pleasure as a “spiritual retreat.”
Here’s how it went:
Are you familiar with Pentatonix? I am officially a Pentaholic.
Being Christmas, I decided to spend my last few days of a self-imposed break watching Christmas movies. After a rollercoaster 2024, my mind needed silliness so I clicked on Meet Me Next Christmas on Netflix. With the plot centering around tickets to the Pentatonix Christmas tour, they starred as themselves… and they were adorable.
A YouTube channel with 25 million subscribers must have something special up its sleeve. I’m familar with their beautiful rendition of The Sound of Silence, so I clicked to hear more of their music.
That’s when I stumbled down the rabbit hole.
This is going to be a multi-part post because there is just so much to say about them. For now, I invite you to listen to what conscious collaboration would sound like if it were an a cappella group. It’s called Run To You, an original released in 2010.
Heartwarmingly magical voices and songs accompany Allison’s adventure down the rabbit hole—a ‘good addiction’ to end the year and start the new one. Love it! I really like their Amazing Grace rendition. Beautiful!
Wow, so powerful and beautiful although I think my contribution to the group would be as the conductor, not a singer!
