In today’s age, more and more people are asking the perennial questions of “who am I?” and “what am I about?” while also trying to live the answer accordingly. Subsequently, a growing amount of spiritual material is available within the public domain, providing those answers about it and directives to follow. As such, an increasing number of people are getting to “know about it” and trying to pursue its directives to live it accordingly, but to no avail. Few, however, are getting to “know it” and subsequently experiencing the fullness of who they truly are.
Therefore, it is great that “I know about it” … but the question is … do “I know” it?
The point I am making is that “knowing about it” is vastly different to inherently “knowing it”. To me, knowing about spiritual matters is still a mental conceptualization and limited, while knowing it comes from the heart as an intuitive and inner awareness, bringing forth a way forward with peaceful certainty. It is the Christ consciousness Allison Ross speaks of in her post How do we know?
And here lies the slippery slope of spiritual bypassing and subsequent emotional avoidance of only just stating and following one’s spiritual “knowing about it” conceptualizations and as such subconsciously avoiding dealing with real-life issues or emotions.
This is especial used by one’s mind-based ego centric disposition of self-protection, always being right, and wanting to look good at all cost, using and following “spiritual” mental conceptualizations to avoid the discomfort of what our occasional ego centric disposition has manifested into our reality. This often plays out in business when our plans don’t turn pan out, which can be a hard pill to swallow.
So, what can be used as an antidote to remediate, when one suspect or perceived that such spiritual bypassing and emotional avoidance has occurred:
Once we have paused and connected with one’s deeper Authentic Soul Self in order to feel centered within its presence, in coherence withy one’s heart intelligence, and as such operating in one’s best possible space of being, we can use a reflection playbook to resolve this occurrence.
A reflection playbook can be as follows:
- What is this occurrence about with regards to the look, feel and experience?
- What are the implications and consequences regarding this occurrence to me and my environment?
- What is really at the core of this occurrence and how can I reframe this positively?
- So, what do I have to acknowledge, let go of and decide upon to resolve this occurrence in the best possible way, but also for the highest and greatest good off all?
- How will I benefit by having resolved this occurrence?
The next steps are now to choose appropriate actioning and to continue with gratitude.
The constant pursuit of knowledge without embodying and applying keeps us trapped in the same cycles.
