As a new month begins, we’re getting closer to the end of 2024. Do you feel exhausted or inspired? Are you giving up – or have you  given up – on your dreams because you’re trying to fit into what others believe is right for you?

I have a few songs that pick me up when I’m down, or when life doesn’t pan out like I think it should. Today, I’m sharing the lyrics to a timeless favourite. If you’d like to listen and sing along, I’ve added the Spotify track at the end of this post. (Please note: you’ll have to sign into Spotify for the full track. It’s free.)

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future, even if you fail

I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream
I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness; still another mile

I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream
I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream
I have a dream
