The Ripple Effect

Topic: The gift of resistance
Archetype(s):
#25 The Mandarin Fish, #26 The Swordfish, #27 The Manta Ray
Experience of life:
Feeling frustrated and unfulfilled in their career, longing for more meaningful work.

In Amor’s post “My Heartbeat Voice: Baring My Authentic Soul” her resistance to blogging resonated strongly with my own feelings on the topic.

My inner voice started chattering away  “I’m not a blogger, I haven’t got time to give this the attention it deserves so I’ll leave it until next week, I don’t have anything important to share. “

The list can go on and on.

All reasonable reasons for not taking action and yet what was my resistance?

What is a blog anyway?

Maybe it was this word I needed to get past.  Maybe it was my perception that a blog needs to be a long-detailed in depth article.  Maybe just sharing thoughts about a conversation, an observation, a quote which resonates, maybe that’s all it needs to be?

So, with this different perspective, I want to share a quote which felt important to share today.

“You can never know how many lives you’ve touched, so just know it’s far more than you think.

Even the tiniest acts of love, kindness, and compassion can have a massive ripple effect.

You have made the world a better place, even if it doesn’t seem like it. “- Lori Deschene

Digital communication has the power to reach thousands and thousands of people, and you never really know who is reading your posts, articles, blogs or whatever you want to call them.

There are many people who read your content and may not interact. Some may never comment or connect with you, others will, when the time is right.

The fact that Amor’s words inspired me to take action are proof of the ripple effect and the impact your words can have on others, so if you have a positive message keep sharing, you don’t know who needs to hear your message, but it will be more than you think.

Curious to know your archetype and how I can support you?

Do you think someone else would find this useful?

Do you feel called to support my work?

Would you like to view all my posts?

Beautiful Louise! I was listening to an audio book and guess what was said on there too – that kindness can go a really long way and creates ripples that reach further than we may ever know. Yes to kindness and acts love!

Louise

Thank you Amor for your ripples of kindness

Even if it doesn’t seem like it…” Thank you for sharing, Louise. We often seek external validation, thinking our efforts are futile when we don’t get immediate – or any – feedback. It’s about trusting that our voice matters.

Louise

It certainly is!

Thanks for sharing Louise, as a “Mandarin Fish” it’s a timely reminder for me that we never know the ripple effects of the small acts that we do.

Louise

Very true and as a mandarin fish, you stand out in your habitat. This symbolises the person’s potential to make a significant impact in their chosen field or new ventures, lots of positive ripples.

I love how you have put all of this together as it is what it means for me when someone says ripple effect. I have used the above picture previously to illustrate this amazing concept.

Thanks Sibylle

So true Louise, those small random acts of kindness may reach the other side of the globe, and we may never know, but simply need to trust that somebody somewhere needed to feel the vibration of the intention behind them.

Beautifully put, thanks Sue
